A holiday in Bali sounds like a dream holiday, right?

Bali is quite known as a dream destination, especially for people who come from the Western countries. When I said this to my Indonesian friends they were amazed, they didn’t expect it. But what surprised me the most is that I never expected to be able to fly over there.

Bali is full of attractions, from relaxing experiences to extreme sports. It can offer you any kind of entertainment. You can stay at luxury and amazing accomodations for a decent price, and the price for the transportation is also very convenient.

If you’re planning a holiday in Bali soon or in the future, make sure to check out these spots/places. You will be able to experience the relaxing Balinese lifestyle and immerse yourself in nature.

Feeling of home

First thing first, I’d like to share my first impression of Bali when I went there, and what I love the most about this island.

When I flew to Bali, it was my very first trip by myself outside where I live. I felt a mixed feeling of excitement and stress. I was afraid to be lonely or that I wouldn’t be able to adapt myself. But as soon as I was on the road I had a feeling of being at home. It reminded me a lot about my motherland, Madagascar.

When I was in the car I couldn’t help by continually looking outside the car’s window. Everything has a bright and vibrant color, the heat was kicking really hard and suddenly all my worries vanished.

Everything in Bali made me feel at home and I really felt welcomed there. People are so nice and friendly that it won’t be hard for you to make new friends.

Bali is a very slow-paced country, it made me feel like I was never in a hurry. This kind of lifestyle reminded me even more about Madagascar. For a second I really thought I wasn’t in Indonesia!

So now let’s dive into the different things you can do on your holiday in Bali.

The Ubud District

Ubud is quite famous among the tourists who decided to spend their holidays in Bali. It’s a town in Bali and it’s one of the top destinations once you land on this island. But if you’ve never heard of it, I’d like to show you why people love it so much.

This district of Bali is perfect if you want a calming and relaxing holiday, yet you still want to experience the Balinese culture. Its hotel and villas are situated in the middle of nature, which will give you peace. Believe me that the view from your window will be able to restore your souls.

If you like to have a closer contact with nature then you can also visit Sacred Monkey Forest. You can also take a walk between the rice terraces, or go rafting and swim under the waterfalls.

Ubud is also where you can find the typical balinese food, art and culture in general.
So if you’re planning to visit Bali, make sure to put Ubud in your list because it’s totally worth it. For any kind of activities that you want to do, Ubud can satisfy you.

Rice Fields

Whole Asia has breath-taking rice terraces, but Bali has something different that will amaze you. I believe that these rice fields are a must  visit if you go to Bali, also because they can represent the culture very well.

Bali offers many different rice terraces but here are three of the most well-known:

These are just a little few of them, but there are many more that you can visit. I promise you that you won’t regret it.

Rice is the main food in Bali and it has a strong connection to its culture. The Balinese have been cultivating rice for thousands of years, and you can find different kinds of rice: white rice, black rice and red rice.

So when you visit these rice fields, it’s not just pleasing to the eye. Actually it’s a way to get to know their culture on a deeper level.

Waterfalls

Here you are another top nature attraction that also attracts many visitors.

Bali still presents untouched rainforests, where you can find beautiful waterfalls. If you’re someone who loves water and you want an alternative for the seaside, these places are just for you.

Bali has many different waterfalls and you can drive there by yourself with a scooter if you want to. Renting a scooter is not that expensive.

I don’t think there’s much to say about why you should visit these places, just have a look.

Here I will list only 6 places, but you can always look up for the others.

Extreme sports & Adventure

If during your holiday in Bali you are looking for thrill, then Bali can offer it to you. There are different kinds of extreme sports that you can do while you stay there.

Beaches

I must say that not every beach in Bali is as dreamy as you see on social media. But you still can find places that are absolute gems.

For some beaches that I went to you have to pay, others are free. But being honest I prefer to pay instead of seeing trash now and there. Some beaches are just suitable for surfing, others are also suitable for swimming.

Here I want to list you the beaches that I like the most or the one that I’d like to visit. These are just a few, I hope next time I’ll be able to visit more seaside places.
