Romantic Destinations By The Sea

The Philippines, El Nido

I’m sure that you already saw pictures of El Nido somewhere around Instagram, and as soon as you see its pic you’ll recognize it. It’s well known for its limestone rocks, the turquoise water and the mystical lagoons. El Nido is situated in the Bacuit Archipelago, and it’s for sure one of the top destinations in the Philippines.

In El Nido you can either organize a relaxing stay or plan fun activities to do. El Nido has luxurious resorts, and along with its unspoiled white beaches is a full package of dream destinations. If you and your partner are more into adventurous things then the excitement of its nature won’t disappoint you. You can go cliff climbing, kayaking, trekking to waterfalls and discover breath-taking lagoons.

This destination is perfect for couples who love both lounging on the clean beach and going on little adventures. El Nido is a must in your romantic getaway bucket list destinations, and imagine the memorable couple pictures that you can take in this scenery.

Thailand, Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta seems to come out of a painting, this Thailand’s destination is becoming more and more popular among the jetsetters. But despite its popularity, you and our loved one can still find peaceful spots. Koh Lanta consists of different islands – the main ones are Koh Lanta Noi and Koh Lanta Yai.

In this marvelous destination you can enjoy white sandy beaches, coral reefs and underwater life. This kind of destination has a more relaxed vibe and I think this is perfect for a couple getaway. You can enjoy a holiday aways from the noisy world and the lively parties of other places.

Like other destinations, also Koh Lanta has many activities to offer, like trekking in the jungle or kayaking among the mangroves; you can go bird watching or you can explore nature on a motorbike.

Malaysia, Mabul Island

If you choose Mabul Island as your destination, then you’ll never get bored because of all kinds of activities that you can do. Everything that you can do here is very suitable as a couple activities.

First thing, Mabul is well known for its diving area, so if you love discovering underwater life this is just perfect for you. There are many resorts that offer house reef diving, and you can also go just for snorkeling if you prefer. Instead, if you like to stay above the water you can choose to kayak in a Molokini transparent kayak.

Something else that you cannot miss is visiting the Bajau Laut (Sea Gypsies) village. If all these activities are not romantic enough for you, you still can opt for the sunset or sunrise moment. Mabul, which is located in Sabah, sees the first ray of light in Malaysia – there’s nothing more romantic than that. Something crazy that you can also experience here is stargazing. Yes you read it right, you can see the Milky Way galaxy lights thanks to the low light pollution.

I believe that every stop that you’ll make in Mabul will be worth it!

To continue with the series of breath-taking and dreamy destinations, now we have Vietnam with Halong Bay. This romantic destination is a UNESCO Heritage site and it has more than a thousand islands. Each island is unique in its own way and you can see different types of fauna and flora.

If you and your half are water lovers then this place is just right for you. Even though its water is not that deep, the life underneath the water is very rich. In the Halong Bay there are 10 different types of ecosystems.

There are various things you can do as a couple, and I’m sure the scenery helps the atmosphere to be more romantic. It’s always a beautiful and sweet experience to watch the sunset together, or go kayaking around the limestone rocks. Vietnam is such an amazing place if you’re on a budget, but you still can make unforgettable memories.

Indonesia, Pulo Cinta

Pulo Cinta has always love in its air because “cinta” in Indonesian means “love”. Okay, I know that this is not a reasonable reason to choose Pulo Cinta as your romantic getaway destination. But I’m sure that it will soon appear in your bucket list.

If you look at the bungalows on the water from above, you can notice the heart shape of their disposition. These bungalows make Pulo Cinta the Maldives of Indonesia, and every year this has become a top destination for new lovebirds.

There’s not much to say about this amazing location, the whole place is already romantic in itself. So I would describe Pulo Cinta as a destination where you won’t feel stress, where you can completely relax and enjoy the precious time with your half.

Romantic Getaway Destinations In The Nature

Taiwan, Beitou Hot Spring

Beitou Hot Spring in itself is the main attraction for this destination, I mean what couple doesn’t want a relaxing time in a hot spring? The best time to visit Beitou Hot Spring is around the winter time – around October and November. In this season the Beitou Museum holds a hot spring festival and anniversary event.

Beside the hot springs, there are also other things that you can visit in Beitou. You can visit Taipei Public Library (Beitou Branch), Beitou Hot Springs Museum, Plum Garden and the hot spring sites.

All the stops before reaching the hot spring sites are worth visiting, so you can also learn a bit about the culture. The main hot springs are Millennium Hot Springs – it’s formed by 4 outdoor pools, where each pool’s water temperature is different. The second one is the Thermal Valley, also known as Hell Valley because of the high temperature of the water, around 80-100 degrees Celsius. Another interesting thing that you can do here is to try the local cuisine.

Things that you can do here is to visit the elephant sanctuary, it will be a memorable and unique experience that you can do with your half. This kind of experience is a little more relaxed compared to other places, but it’s still something interesting to do.

Another incredible experience to do – ziplining near by the waterfalls in Bou Sra, which is 45 km aways from Sen Monorom. Other interesting things to do are visiting the sea forest for its landscape view, visiting the coffee plantation and the minor villages.

Laos, Luang Prabang

Also this one is part of the UNESCO Heritage site list, and it has more Chinese influence. In the center of the city you’ll find Mount Phousi, and from there you’ll be able to have a stunning view of the surroundings. Luang Prabang has many temples, and most of them are situated in the old quarter. I believe that the old villages give a romantic atmosphere that can complete your experience there.

A must-gos in Luang Prabang are Pak Ou Caves and Kuang Si Waterfall. At Pak Ou Caves, the caves are in the rocky walls of the mountains and is one of the most attractive sites of the town. While at Kuang Si Waterfall you’ll see these multi-level falls that are unique and very beautiful. The falls tumble down through a sequence of pools and the spray keeps the picnic area cool throughout the whole year.

The Winter Destinations For Your Romantic Getaway

Japan, Ningle Terrace

Ningle Terrace is situated in the forest of the New Furano Prince Hotel. The whole environment seems to have come out of a fairy tale. Despite Ningle Terrace being a shopping area in the forest. It’s an amazing place to go with your loved one. In this shopping area, the crafted shops and cafes are immersed in the nature theme, which gives a warm atmosphere.

You can also enjoy the things that surround Ningle Terrace, like the ski resorts or enjoy a delicious meal in restaurants. Near this shopping area there are also other activities that you can do. You can visit Kaze no Garden, or go to Farm Tomita or Furano Jam Garden.

India, Manali

Manali has always been on top of honeymoon’s destinations, and honestly I get why! This romantic destination is different from the ones that I talked about above – the snowy scenery is no joke. What is so special about Manali? Manali has a view of the Himalayas because it’s situated in the midst of it.

This location has plenty of things to offer to couples who want to enjoy themselves or for those who are seeking a bit of thrill. The first must stop-pit in Manali is its hot spring in Vashisht, which is 3kms from Manali. Couples love this stop because of its healing and relaxing water. Other romantic things to do are dining at the old castle of Naggar, or having a relaxing pic-nic by the Beas river.

Instead, if you’re looking for something more exciting, there are many water sports that you can do. And since the snow covers Manali for half of the year, there are also many winter sports that you can play. For something healing, you can always have a walk in the monasteries. Or you can lay down on the green meadows of Solang.

Hong Kong

For Hong Kong I don’t have a specific place for you, since there are many romantic experiences that you can have. Hong Kong can offer you any kind of activity that you need – luxury, fun entertainment, cultural experiences and adventure.
